Permanent residence permit in Lithuania is a document which allows staying legally in the country for an unlimited period of time.
Categories of persons entitled for permanent residence:
- Aliens who have resided in Lithuania for at least 5 years (students, businessmen, employees);
- Aliens of Lithuanian origin or who previously were the nationals of Lithuania;
- A foreign spouse of Lithuanian national;
- Children under 18 years old regardless of place of birth, if either parent is a Lithuanian national/resident;
- Aliens with refugee status;
- Aliens living in the EU for at least 5 years, two of which are in Lithuania.
Documents required for permanent residence:
- Pass the Lithuanian language proficiency test (except for people over 75 years of age, group I disabled persons, individuals with mental health issues);
- Pass the test on the Lithuanian Constitution;
- Health insurance;
- Have a stable and legal monthly income of at least €350 or have sufficient funds for 5 years of living in Lithuania;
- Provide evidences that an alien lawfully resided in Lithuanian territory and did not violate the immigration laws throughout the entire period of residence;
- An alien is required to have purchased or leased housing.
