The United States of America is the country that was built by immigrants, the land of opportunities. At the moment, it is a leader in almost all areas, ranging from production, politics, trade and the military industry to the social sphere and care for its citizens. It may be said without exaggeration that the USA is a superpower that dictates its terms in the global arena.
Moreover, the United States takes care of the population of its country and is trying to give its citizens all the best for their lives: by developing the social sphere, investing in small and medium businesses, providing employment opportunities, paying subsidies and helping common people who are in difficult life situations.
Foreigners who arrived in the United States legally also have a great chance to succeed in this country. And if a person plays by the rules, the sky is the limit to him.
In addition, here you can meet many friendly and kind people, of course, with their own rules, traditions and attitudes, but if you accept them, then living in the USA will be easy and pleasant, while your interests will be maximally protected at the legislative and social level.
If you are going to immigrate to another country, but cannot decide yet to what country exactly, the United States of America – the best variant for this.
The United States Visa is stamped in the international passport. The visa gives the opportunity to address the border guard with a request to enter the territory of the United States. In most cases, in order to receive a visa it is necessary to go through interview process with the American Consul. When a person is being interviewed, he/she must prove that his/her intention to visit the USA corresponds to the chosen type of visa. If the consul doubts the person’s intention, the visa may be denied.
There are 3 types of USA visas. The type of visa corresponds to the intention with which a foreigner arrives in the United States:
1. Immigrant visas
Immigrant visas are issued to foreigners to obtain a permanent resident status in the United States.
This type of visa is suitable for persons who are reuniting with a family living in the States or winners of green cards lottery, investors, talented people, etc.
The persons who have legal grounds for obtaining permanent resident status in the USA can get an immigrant visa.
Please note! It is difficult to obtain this status due to the large number of applicants willing to be permanent resident as well as the USA legislation in the field of immigration policy is very strict.
The number of immigrants entering the US is regulated by special quotas because of which large queues are formed and applicants can wait for a decision on their applications for several years.
Because of this, persons who want to reunite with a family living in the States can wait for a visa 10, 15, or even 20 years!
Besides, when applying for a visa, the guarantees that a person will not become burden on the state may be required. Accordingly, at the interview you will need to provide a letter of “full material support to the immigrant” from receiving relatives as well as the evidence of sufficient funds to provide for yourself and your family initially.
One of the immigrant visas categories is refugee visa. Receiving refugee status is governed by individual USA laws. This visa also gives the right to stay in the United States indefinitely.
2. Dual Intent Visas
Dual Intent Visa is a temporary visa, allowing the applicant to have the intention to stay in the United States as a permanent resident. Don’t prove the absence of such intentions at the interview. On the grounds of this visa a holder is entitled to enter the USA temporarily and can obtain permission from the authorities to apply for permanent resident status without any intermediate stages, subject to certain conditions. A visa feature is that a person has the right to work in the territory of United States and to bring a family with him/her (the spouses do not always get the right to work).
Usually, it takes several years to obtain a permanent resident status (Green Card) from the moment of entry into the USA territory, during these years a foreigner must not violate local and immigration laws and must strictly follow the rules.
Please note! None of the dual intent visas guarantee a Green Card. Each application for permanent resident status is considered separately by the immigration service and the decision is made at its discretion.
3. Nonimmigrant visas
Nonimmigrant visas are issued temporarily and when this visa is expiring a person must leave the United States.
When a candidate is being interviewed, he/she must prove a strong connection with his/her home country and that he/she will definitely return home upon visa expiration. If the consul considers the arguments unconvincing, your visa application may be denied even if the intentions indicated in the application are true.
There are both single-entry and multiple-entry visitor visas, however, they do not give the right to work in the United States (i.e. remuneration from an employer or to open a business in the territory of the USA). You can receive income only from passive sources, for example, to lease an apartment or house, fees from copyright works, etc.
