Tourist\Visitor Visa is issued for up to 9 months. On the grounds of this visa a person has the right to travel on the territory of New Zealand, visit friends and relatives, take short-term courses (up to 12 weeks).
On the territory of New Zealand a person has the right to change this type of visa for student or work visa, if there are grounds for this.
Documents required to apply for a Tourist\Visitor Visa must be provided in original or notarized photocopies as well as in English or translated into English by registered translation agency.=
Documents required to apply for a TouristVisitor Visa:
- Valid foreign passport (original) or other travel document for each applicant, included in application. The passport validity must be at least 3 months from the date of departure from the territory of New Zealand;
- Filled form INZ1017 and 1189 (for tourists) with date and signature of each applicant, and form with additional information;
- 2 photos of size 4,5×3,5 from each applicant (name and last name of applicant should be written on the back);
- Proof of funds (one of the documents):
- Experience certificate or contract;
- Bank statement that confirms availability of 1000 NZ$ for 1 month or 400 NZ$ for 1 month upon condition of already paid accommodation and availability of funds for buying return ticket;
- Sponsorship form, filled and signed by sponsor, who lives on the territory of New Zealand, with a copy of a New Zealand citizen passport or resident visa, and also the documents confirming the availability of accommodation and sufficient financial resources for the maintenance of a person who arrived. This form must be notarized.
- Visa fee receipt;
- Return airline ticket or departure guarantee from New Zealand territory according to the sponsorship form.
- Medical form. The form must be issued not earlier than 3 months before you apply for a visa. It is filled in, signed and stamped by a doctor assigned by immigration authorities of New Zealand:
- if the applicant\applicants plan to be on the territory of New Zealand more than 6 months – the form INZ1096 is provided (to each applicant over 11 years old);
- if the applicant\applicants plan to be on the territory of New Zealand more than 12 months – the forms NZ1007 and INZ1096 are provided.
- For the applicant\applicants who have reached the age of 17 and are planning to be on the territory of New Zealand more than 2 years, it is required to provide the police clearance certificate in the country of residence, and the same certificate must be provided from the country (or countries) where he/she had lived for 5 years since reaching the age of 17. The certificate must be issued not earlier than 6 months from the moment of applying for visa;
- Confirmation that applicant works or studies (if so);
- Information demonstrating the true purpose of the trip:
- tourist rout, sightseeing program, hotel booking, information on previous trips abroad (for tourists);
- sponsor’s contacts, information about the relationship or in what relations with the sponsor (Sponsorship form);
- marriage certificate or confirmation of marriage ceremony organization on the territory of New Zealand.
The person\ persons who apply for a Parent and Grandparent multiple-entry visa (valid for 3 years) are required to submit the above visa application, a full medical certificate ( as if you are planning to stay in New Zealand for more than 12 months) and must be sponsored by son or daughter, grandson or granddaughter of the main applicant. As a sponsor can be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident, whose age is over 17 years old.
Documents, which also can be required:
- applicants, who haven’t reached the age of 18 and who want to visit the territory New Zealand without/with being accompanied by parents/one parent, must have a notarized written permission from one or both parents, or from guardian;
- children’s birth certificate (if they included into application) and guardian rights;
- copy of student card, certificate from the educational institution (for students, pupils);
- two-sided photocopy of national passport (pages with stamps and notes);
- two-sided photocopy of international passport (pages with stamps and notes);
- marriage, divorce certificate (if available);
- confirmation about civil marriage (if available);
- other information confirming the purposes of the trip to the territory of New Zealand and the incentive to return home.
The application processing time takes up approximately 2 weeks, but depending on circumstances can be extended.
A visa officer has the right to request photographs, documents, and other information that will facilitate the decision making and inviting the applicant to an interview.
