Canadian citizenship

The program, developed by the Canadian government for fund-raising in the economy, provides simplified procedure for Canadian citizenship granting to investors and owners of a business in Canada.

The program implies 3 categories of applicants:

1. Entrepreneurs

When applying for citizenship the applicant must provide evidences of legally and honestly obtained income. 

It is required to have 2-year experience in operating a business with participation in its promotion, development and expansion into the market. Entrepreneur is also obliged to create job positions for Canada nationals (at least one position).

The size of initial capital for starting a business or buying an existed one should be no less than $300000.

2. Private entrepreneurs

This category includes persons of direct relevance to agriculture, sports or arts.  Each candidate must prove he is a professional in his field and provide evidences of achievements in order to open up his private practice.

3. Investors

Candidates who need not necessarily to participate actively in business operating, promotion and development. It is enough to invest funds in Canadian economy.  However, experience in operating a business and managing the processes is an important factor. 

Initial capital for investments should start from $800 000, and duration of the investments should be no less than 5 years.

Skilled worker immigration implies that an applicant for Canadian citizenship has one of occupations from NOC list. 

NOC

NOC (National Occupation Category) is the classification of occupations used by Canadian authorities.

There are main requirements relating to each NOC category: 

Minimum 1 year of experience in a chosen occupation, absence of chronic diseases, lack of criminal record, sufficient funds for relocating, accommodation and feeding, and total score of 67 points in the ranking system

Immigration program for persons whose relatives are Canadian nationals.

These include:

1. Spouse or common-law spouse of Canadian national upon 1 year of cohabitation;
2. Children, including adopted children under 18 years of age;
3. Children of majority age, who are the students of universities, financially dependent on parents and unmarried.
4. Disabled children, totally dependent on parents, irrespective of age;
5. Parents of Canadian national, who reside in another country;
6. Grandparents;
7. Any family member who will be sponsored by Canadian national.

General requirements for all applicants for Canadian citizenship:

1. Legal age;
2. English or French proficiency;
3. Lack of criminal record;
4. Permanent resident status
5. Compete in history and culture of Canada.
