Partnership Work Visa to New Zealand

Work visa (open) – partnership visa for which an invitation from the employer is not required. This type of visa allows to work in any area without no restrictions on specialty.

The right to apply for a Work visa (open) have:

  • spouses or citizens’/residents’ of New Zealand partners;
  • spouses or partners who have long-stay visa;
  • spouses or student partners, who study at New Zealand educational institution by programs of 7 or 8 level by specialty from the list LTSSL or by programs of 9 or 10 level in any specialty.

To get a Work visa (open) applicant has to prove strength and reality of marital or partners relations.

Attention! Marriage certificate (regardless term of limitation) is insufficient evidence.

Children, under the age of 17, whose parents have Work visa (open) have right to receive the status «domestic student» or get the right to study in public schools of New Zealand for free.

Parents, owners of Work visa (open) who have a child under the age of 5, apply a Visitor visa for him for the period of validity of their visas. In this case the Visitor visa’s rule «9 months of 18» doesn’t work.
