Permanent residence in Poland

1. Continuous stay in the country on the basis or resident status;
2. Official employment;
3. Tourist journeys to the Schengen countries;
4. Free medical care;
5. Loans from the banks;
6. Possession of rights similar to Polish nationals, except for the voting and holding public office.

An alien with permanent resident status can apply for citizenship in three years.

1. Holders of the Pole’s card;
2. Children whose guardian or parents have permanent or temporary residence permit;
3. Children of Polish nationals;
4. Spouse of Polish nationals under condition their marriage lasts at least three years, two of which they reside in Poland;
5. Victims of trafficking;
6. Refugees living in Poland on the basis of residence permit at least five years;
7.  Aliens residing in Poland for the minimum period of 10 years without the possibility of coming back home due to violation by the state of fundamental international human rights and freedoms;
8. Aliens to whom asylum was granted by Poland;
9. High skilled aliens working on the basis of EU Blue Card for minimum period of 4 years.

In case of refusal to provide permanent residence a person has the right to appeal the decision. For this, it is required to contact the voivodeship, which forwarded complaint to the Aliens Department.

In case of a repeated refusal the person has the right to appeal the decision in court.

The trial is not a basis for legal residence on the territory of Poland. A person is obliged to leave the country unless there are other documents for official residence on its territory.
